High school sweethearts Sharan and Nav tied the knot last weekend and had the most gorgeous Grouse Mountain Wedding. They took their traditional Vancouver Indian Wedding to the top of Grouse Mountain on a cold and foggy summer day. Here with their loved ones they celebrated their many years of love. I was very excited while attending my first traditional Sikh wedding, especially at such a beautiful jaw dropping location. Grouse Mountain is a stunning location for a wedding, and it funny enough, it was my first time taking the gondola up instead of hiking the Grouse Grind (10/10 would recommend)!
After a week of beautiful weather, Saturday came and the clouds opened up and rain poured down in typical pacific northwest Vancouver fashion. The wooded Grouse Mountain wedding was moved inside. That couldn’t stop the excitement of everyone involved. Family from all around the world came to celebrate the newlyweds and relish in their joy, showering them with good wishes, rupees, and love. It was the most beautiful wedding to witness and I was honoured to be their wedding photographer!
Deciding to host your love with a Grouse Mountain Wedding may seem daunting but it is an absolutely stunning location to exchange vows. Though we had hoped for beautiful views of the city, we were lost in the fog and that lead for some romantic and cinematic wedding portraits amongst the trees. Watching the wedding party walk out of the fog was a beautiful and romantic sight!
The reception followed the next night at a gorgeous hall in Surrey. It was unbelievably beautiful, full of laughter, tears, dancing and never ending Indian food. One of my favourite moments was the guests joining Sharan and Nav on the dance floor moments after their first dance. Everybody of all ages ripping it up to classic Bollywood tunes. Thank you both for having me there to celebrate with you and photograph your day! It was absolutely fantastic.
