Vancouver LGBTQ Wedding Photographer | Museum of Vancouver

I am a Vancouver LGBTQ Wedding Photographer and proud of it! This LGBTQ wedding the Museum of Vancouver was a huge highlight of my 2019 summer!

Clarissa and Danniele were married in a beautiful and intimate celebration of love, surrounded by their closest friends, family and community. The ceremony was officiated by a good friend of theirs, which made it all the more special.

They started off their day by getting ready separately and spending some quality time with their moms. Clarissa was downtown in their West End neighbourhood, and Danniele at a lovely AirBnB close to the MOV. I started photographing Clarissa and booked it over to the MOV to capture Danniele getting ready with her family and her mom helping her into her gorgeous wedding dress.

We met at the Museum of Vancouver and they had an emotional and romantic first look. Next, I took the brides for portraits around the Museum and inside the Neon Exhibit and then they celebrated with a heartfelt ceremony. The guests had a delicious vegan meal, and they partied the night away devouring cake and dancing. It was fantastic and wonderful.

As a Vancouver LGBTQ Wedding Photographer, I feel honoured every time I am invited to photograph a queer wedding. Every single couple I have worked with has been absolutely wonderful, and every wedding is special and heartfelt in it’s own way. Celebrating love never gets old, and photographing couples having the time of their life is my jam.

But LGBTQ weddings feel different. I personally believe it’s because as gay people, we never took for granted that we would one day get married. Or if we did, would our parents be there to support us? What about friends, uncles and grandparents? Would they think that #loveislove or not? Having your family, friends and community there to support you is a big deal for everyone, and for the LGBTQ community, it’s never been a guaranteed thing. All of this adds into the beautiful-ness of love and queer love and community.

Thank you two for having me there to capture your day. I’m so happy to be offering my Vancouver (and beyond) LGBTQ community wedding photography.

Congratulations! Here’s to a lifetime of happiness.
