When it comes to documenting the beauty of love, there’s something uniquely powerful about photographing an LGBTQ+ wedding, probably because I am a part of this community and also because we still don’t have equality in so many places. And when that LGBTQ+ wedding at Fraser River Lodge takes place, nestled along the breathtaking Fraser River in British Columbia, the entire experience becomes even more magical. As a photographer, there’s no greater honour than capturing the moments that define such a special day—where love knows no boundaries and every detail is a reflection of the couple’s journey.
Megan and Claire celebrated their day in the most beautiful way. This late October wedding had the risk of rain, but the sun was out on Mt. Cheam all day, allowing for the ceremony to take place on the lawn in front of the towering iconic Fraser Valley mountain. They started by getting ready separately in the bridal suites, and did a first touch instead of a first look. It was a beautiful moment to witness as the excitement of seeing each other grew! After their heartfelt ceremony, the party began with cocktail hour and then a reception that went late into the night.
Fraser River Lodge offers more than just a picturesque setting; it’s a venue that embodies inclusivity, authenticity, and respect for all couples. For LGBTQ+ couples, finding a venue that embraces diversity and supports their love is crucial. Fraser River Lodge does just that—creating a safe and welcoming environment where every couple can be their true selves, and celebrate their union without compromise.
Congratulations to Megan and Claire, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
